The town of Barth

The town of Barth, still a maritime insider tip, is surrounded by the flair of the legends of the lost town of Vineta. The small town with one of the most beautiful harbours in the north offers relaxation, peace and nature idyll away from the busy Baltic seaside resorts.

Barth is known as the gateway to the Baltic Sea, but the city is so much more. On the lagoon landscape of the southern Bodden coast, guests will find a lively harbour town that tells its more than 760-year-old history in all its alleys, streets, buildings and the people who live here. From here you can experience the fabulous nature of the National Park Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft, many cultural offers such as museums, galleries, theatres, concerts, exhibitions and traditional as well as modern festivals. A sailing area that may count itself among the most beautiful in Germany. The varied network of cycle paths, through which the Baltic Sea Coastal Cycle Route runs, meets every demand. Walking from the historic town centre with its magnificent Gothic St. Mary's Church, in and through nature is a great experience. Especially in autumn, when thousands and thousands of cranes rest in the surrounding fields, you must have experienced the town and its surroundings. Barth's location between Stralsund, Rostock and the Baltic beaches, which can be reached in a few minutes by car, is still considered an insider tip for those seeking relaxation and peace and quiet.
