The Usedom Children's Rehabilitation Centre is located 150 m from the Baltic Sea beach on a hill, beautifully nestled in a park. Children aged 0 to 16 years are treated together with the medically necessary accompanying person as «co-therapists».

In our children's rehabilitation centre, treatment is based on a holistic therapy concept. Every department and every member of staff is important and helps to bring our company philosophy to life. The rehabilitation of children is carried out according to family therapy aspects, as we not only treat the illness, but also integrate the family into the therapy concept as a «co-therapist».

Holistic, ICF-orientated therapy concept
Chronic illnesses often lead to restrictions in bodily functions, activity and participation in social life. These problems, which are based on disease-related disorders, can only be reduced, eliminated or prevented from worsening with specific therapeutic efforts. Functionality and thus participation in social, societal and later working life and integration into the family, circle of friends, school and work can thus be improved.

«Co-therapist family» principle
An important treatment principle is the presence of a caregiver entrusted with education and care for the entire duration of the inpatient treatment programme. The therapy concepts are regularly reviewed and adapted to the guidelines of the German Society for Paediatric Rehabilitation and Prevention and the guidelines of the specialist societies. Psychological and social aspects in particular are taken into account and the entire family of the chronically ill child can be included in the treatment.

Equipment of the house + –

All rooms are furnished in a maritime style and are functional, practical and suitable for children. The rooms and flats have a shower/WC, telephone and TV. You can also enjoy the view of the Kölpinsee or a mild summer evening on your own balcony or terrace, and a limited number of disabled and wheelchair-accessible flats are available. In our lounges you have the opportunity to surf the Internet, relax with a book or newspaper, have a coffee or chat with other patients. You can also simply enjoy the view of nature on our sun terrace or listen to the sound of the sea in a beach chair and unwind.

Catering + –

The hospital catering includes three main meals. For breakfast and dinner, all patients can choose their own individual meal from the buffet. This is supervised daily by the dietician and dietary foods are labelled accordingly. For lunch, 3 types of food are offered:

Low-fat home cooking
«Children's favourite food» based on home cooking

For diet patients, a customised diet is prepared according to the indication.

Transport connections + –

By car:
Via the A 20 motorway (Anklam B 110 or Wolgast B 111) to Kölpinsee. Here you turn off the B 111 and drive along Strandstraße and Goethestraße into Jägerstraße until you reach the signposted clinic.

By train:
Deutsche Bahn and Usedomer Bäderbahn (UBB) to Kölpinsee station, from where you will be picked up.
