1962, Germany: Twelve-year-old Karla bravely confronts a world in which children are supposed to remain silent. Inspired by a true court case, Karla tells the story of a young girl who finds the courage to stand up for herself - and in doing so gives others a voice. Elise Krieps touches in her first role with quiet strength and unwavering presence. Rainer Bock and Imogen Kogge strengthen the impressive ensemble with great depth.
