Katharina Dargel became a member of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra in 1989 after studying viola at the Weimar and Leipzig conservatories. She performs there in concerts, operas and cantatas. Katharina Dargel is also intensively involved in the historical performance practice of baroque music. Together with her husband, Gewandhaus organist Michael Schönheit, she has been organizing summer concerts in the Zingst church for many years.
When the dark, full and warm sound of the viola joins the virtuoso playing of the organ, a very special concert experience is guaranteed.
