The town of Barth

The town of Barth, the »gateway to the Baltic Sea« is situated between the Hanseatic cities of Rostock and Stralsund. The small town with one of the most beautiful harbours in the north offers relaxation, peace and nature idyll away from the busy Baltic Sea resorts.

Barth is proud of its history and so visitors will find lovingly restored town houses, medieval alleys, time-honoured gates and buildings, but also arts and crafts. Not far from the town centre, nature lovers, cycling and hiking enthusiasts can explore the endless expanses of the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft National Park with its unspoilt forests and the species-rich Bodden landscape. Barth is particularly interesting for water sports enthusiasts, as the town can be reached from the water without major detours and offers experienced as well as beginners an interesting sailing, surfing and canoeing area.
